Going to be vegetarian and just try to eat more raw

I tried seeing how long I can stay 100% raw vegan. I started on Monday (7-9-7) and gave in on Friday (7-13-7). I got to the point where I felt like raw food just couldn't fill me up! I was at work (like last time) and I just couldn't see going to the store to buy another avocado, apple, orange, etc. and getting filled up on that. I felt like if I ate those I would come back to work hungry and I would starve the rest of the day. I gave in. I ate a couple BK veggie burgers (I also had a little pop corn). I was still hungry! I went to Fazoli's and got a couple slices of cheese pizza. Then I was thirsty so I stopped by a gas station and got a Sobe green tea (I'm like addicted to those).

You have to eat so much to stay full on a raw diet.

I've decided to stay vegetarian and just try to eat more raw. I'm all for being 100% raw vegan, but I can't do it. I'm content with being vegetarian and trying to eat more raw.

I'll post an update to the video on You Tube, and that will be it.

I'm still interested in juice fasting, I think I'll still start the year off with w a juice fast.

I'm going to see how long I can go

Staring Monday, 7-9-7, I'm going to see how long I can go eating 100% raw. I'll update the You Tube video. I want to record how I feel when I get to my breaking point and try to figure out why I want to give in. I already know some reasons, such as not having a variety of food. Same old fruits / veggies from Kroger. Also, not knowing enough recipe's and being hungry at work without having anything to snack on and gorging at lunch. I'll probably end up lasting a few days, maybe a week. I'M GLAD I TRIED GOING RAW BEFORE 1-1-8! The reason is because I can have trial and errors! I have time to figure out how to stay raw. Time to ease into it.

I started oil pulling last Monday. Oil pulling is where you swish with oil. It's supposed to help your skin, I'm trying to see if it helps my psoriasis. So far, it doesn't look like it's helping that much. The lesion on my knee isn't as scaly as it usually is, but it's looked like that before.

Here's a video on You Tube I recorded about it:

My elliptical broke so I haven't been able to exercise. It really sucks! I should have bought a better one instead of a cheap $200.00 one from Walmart. Oh well, I'll have to try to rig it up. I'm going to have my dad try to epoxy the leg back on.

I'm really trying to make more time to post in this blog instead of JUST posting on forums. I'm a forum kind of guy. I think one reason is because I know people will actually read it! Lol. Anyway, thought I would just post an update.

Working My Way Up

I've decided to go with my original plan and take the rest of the year to ease into a raw lifestyle. I need to research it more and LEARN MORE RECIPE'S! The hardest thing I found about the week I was raw was what to eat. I'm so used to eating fake meat and processed vegetarian food that it was sort of a shock to all the sudden take in 100% natural food. I craved mattar paneer and that's what I ended up eating. I know that when going raw you get cravings for stuff you haven't had in a while and I was craving a Tofurkey roast, which I only eat a few times a year.

Here's a video I made about my experience.

I'm interested in juice fasting! I bought the L'Equip Mini Pulp Ejector Juicer yesterday from Georgetown Market. I can't wait to use it! I plan to start a juice fast on January 1st 2008 as an intro to my raw lifestyle. I plan to juice fast for as long as I can, then live off 100% raw food.

I'm not the kind of person who can do it cold tofu. Just like with going vegetarian, I have to east into it, prepare my body, prepare myself mentally and emotionally, then I'll see what I can do. I plan on being 100 raw, but if that doesn't work out then I'll strive to eat high raw.

I've been reading about the benefits of a raw diet and I'm thrilled that I've chosen this path at a young age! I'll be 23 when I go raw on 1-1-8.

As for the people in my life, they are okay with it more than I thought. it's common sense that eating fruit and vegetables are good for you. My mom said that old, "That's not healthy" thing, my dad doesn't really care, he eats a lot of my food, he cut down tremendously on his meat consumption and is interested in a liver cleanse! My fiance' is vegetarian and she eats a lot of raw food herself, she pretty cool with my decision. As for others, they make little jokes, but that's normal. Coworkers don't really care. That's another benefit of easing into it is allowing time for the people in my life that this effects, especially my fiance', time to accept that this is the path I want. The longer I stick with this the more they will accept that this is a possibility of my future.

I usually post on forums, I'll try to start posting more in this blog.
